It is very sad that people believe the things that Glenn Beck and the right wing spews forth. It is, however, important that people see this information and just how wrong the right is on this issue.
More hate speech that has never resulted in any consequences for those who spewed them forth.
Rush Limbaugh: “I tell people don’t kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus – living fossils – so we will never forget what these people stood for.”
(Unconfirmed) source:Denver Post, Dec. 29 1995 (no link)
Senator Phil Gramm: “We’re going to keep building the party until we’re hunting Democrats with dogs.”
John Derbyshire intimated in the National Review that because Chelsea Clinton had “the taint,” she should “be killed.” (He doesn’t actually say that she should be killed, only that in Imperial China ‘enemies of the state’ and four generations up were killed.)
Ann Coulter: “We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too.” (Later on: “And when I said we should “execute” John Walker Lindh, I mis-spoke. What I meant to say was “We should burn John Walker Lindh alive and televise it on prime-time network TV”. My apologies for any misunderstanding that might have occurred.”)
Bill O’Reilly: “All those clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains.”
Clear Channel radio host Glenn Beck said he was “thinking about killing Michael Moore” and pondered whether “I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it,” before concluding: “No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out — is this wrong?”
While I believe in free speech, advocating the death of people because they think differently from you is never acceptable. It has no value and contributes nothing to solving the problems of society.
Even though Glenn Beck uses his usual nutbag assortment of tricks, including the infamous chalkboard, he actually makes a lot of sense in this video.
Beck’s main goal seems to be casting doubt on both women, who, he alleges, seemed pretty happy to be having sex with Assange before later claiming assault—only because, Beck theorizes, they realized Assange didn’t love them. (Even so, Beck makes sure to clarify, “I am not defending Assange. I think he is a dirtbag.”)
I knew most of what Beck spoke about beforehand, but he puts it in a tidy time line so people can follow what’s going on. It still smell of a setup to me.
