You can see the pictures at 1:07 in the video. At 1:32, he realizes he’s live on camera. It is also being reported that he may have been set up.

A man who was carjacked outside a south side restaurant said his friends helped him come up with a plan to outsmart the thieves, 10TV News reported Thursday.

Alan Heuss was sitting in his BMW on Wednesday night with the engine running when a man with a gun approached him, 10TV’s Kurt Ludlow reported.

“Some young man came up and opened the passenger door and stuck a gun in my face and told me to get out,” Heuss said.

The thieves got away with Heuss’ car, cell phone and some cash.

Heuss filed a police report and then met his friends to drown his sorrows, Ludlow reported. One of his friends came up with an idea to contact the thieves.

“He said ‘I’m going to text these guys, I’m going to blow some smoke their way,’” Heuss said. “He said. ‘I’m going to tell them I’ve got a bunch of hot chicks, as if I’m texting you, and that we’ve got some drugs, too.’”

The carjackers took the bait, Ludlow reported.

“Very early in the morning they gave him the address where they were,” Heuss said. “They were expecting this hot chick to arrive with drugs, and Columbus police officers arrived instead.”

Three men were caught red-handed in the stolen vehicle. Heuss said he expected to get his vehicle out of the impound lot on Friday.

“It’s a little seven-hour saga where the good guys won,” Heuss said.

Investigators said the carjackers are suspected in a series of car thefts.

Patrons said they don’t mind the surcharge because it helps with their waistline. The manager said he implemented the extra cost two years ago to help with the restaurant’s bottom line.

I say nothing.  She looks well attired for her bike ride.  I don’t see anything inappropriate, however, there seems to be a bike war looking in South Williamsburg between bikers, such as this woman, and Hasidic Jews, who live in the area.

Leaders of South Wil liamsburg’s Hasidic community said yesterday that bike lanes that bring scantily clad cyclists – especially sexy women – peddling through their neighborhood are definitely not kosher.

“I have to admit, it’s a major issue, women passing through here in that dress code,” Simon Weisser, a member of Community Board 1 in Williamsburg-Greenpoint, told The Post.

The existing, one-way lanes are popular with North Williamsburg hipsters – many who ride in shorts or skirts.

Hasids are forbidden from looking at members of the opposite sex who aren’t fully dressed, said local activist Isaac Abraham.

The issue of dress – or lack of it – wasn’t brought up at the meeting. Weisser and the other Hasids instead complained publicly about bike lanes allegedly causing parking problems and traffic congestion.

So, they’re either upset or not about the attire that women wear on this bike path.

Abraham later said another major concern is the safety of children, noting that cyclists “aren’t obeying traffic laws. Green lights and red lights are the same.”

Hasids last month complained about a sexy billboard promoting the teen drama “90210″ that could be seen from the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and that featured swimwear-clad characters.

A few years back, some residents complained about billboards for “Sex and the City.”

I think a better way of dealing with this issue is to simply look away.  No one is making the billboards or the bike paths specifically to piss off Hasids.  It’d be better to teach their children why they think it’s wrong to look at such things, rather than try to dictate what should happen in a city.  They chose to live in a highly cosmopolitan city.  They should have known what to expect before moving in.

The Hasids have always done what they please in the city, especially obeying or not obeying laws according to their traditions.  They think nothing of driving the wrong way and blocking roads because it suits their purposes.  They do not follow the law 100% and get angry when others interfere with their traditions.  If they can’t respect the laws of the country they live in, how can they justify calling for an end to bike paths when women ride their bikes in perfectly normal clothing go by?

If the Hasids didn’t want the unclean and the gentiles living near them, then they shouldn’t have sold off their property.  The bike path is on public property.  Deal with chicks riding bikes or move someplace more in line with your beliefs, such as Kiryas Joel or Israel.

Year after year, bottled water companies have told us that their water was somehow healthier or better for us than our own water. New York City already has the best pizza in the world.  Now, with purified NYC tap water, you can eat more pizza since you’ll be drinking water instead of soda.  Just remember, NYC tap water comes from upstate, so, technically, New York State has the best water.

They did it for maybe four hours on Saturday mornings to make a little money. They haven’t sold a thing since the police showed up recently in response to one complaint to the mayor’s office.

Ah, yes, we now live in the land of one complaint will get you shut down and in trouble with the law.

“They said traffic was being stopped and then they came up with we can’t have a roadside stand and then they said it was a commercial enterprise,” said Katie Lewis, former produce seller.

As for the traffic issue, neighbor Terri Highsmith says there isn’t one.

“On the weekends is when I mostly notice them selling. I come and go a lot and I’ve never seen any traffic problems,” said Highsmith.

Oh, but that doesn’t matter.  A single person has already filed a complaint and they have much more power than common sense.

“They may start out with a little card-table and selling a couple of things, but then who is to say what else they have. Is all the produce made there, do they make it themselves? Are they going to have eggs and chickens for sale next,” said Manning.

“Lemonade stands are technically illegal, but they don’t last long enough to do anything about,” said Manning.

This guy is the mayor?  For crying out loud, these kids are 11 and 3.  They just wanted to do what every little kid has done for thousands of years, yet he’d close down a lemonade stand given half a chance.

“I wish everyone would follow the rules and not be just self-centered,” said Manning.

Yes, Mr. Mayor, because having extra food from your garden that you sell to other people is self-centered.

One person who complained and a “follow the law to the letter” mayor are the ones who are self-centered.  These girls aren’t doing anything wrong and it is extremely unlikely that they are going to grow so big that ConAgra and Monsanto should be worried.

Instead of learning about free enterprise, economics, helping others, and learning the value of hard work, these girls are learning about what happens when you encounter a stick in the mud complainer and end up facing hardass politicians.

They are also learning how to fight the law.  They have been shut down because the mayor claims the law was made to protect the citizens who asked for it.  It is now the citizens who are signing Katie’s petition that are saying they don’t want the protection and the produce stand should go back up.

This is the America we live in today.  It’s a “letter of the law” country instead of a “spirit” of the law country.  This is how we end up with 5 year olds on the terror no-fly list.  Little kids selling their fruits and veggies really shouldn’t scare us.  I guess someone should have told these kids that the new America is all about following the rules, watching TV and playing video games.

Diana Verm complained that she didn’t like the cussing and the burning of the Bible, though she also admits that she only read a couple of pages of the book.

“The book had a bunch of very bad language in it,” Diana Verm said. “It shouldn’t be in there because it’s offending people. … If they can’t find a book that uses clean words, they shouldn’t have a book at all.”

After her complaint, she was given an alternate reading assignment, but her father, Alton Verm, is pushed for the book to be banned. His main complaint was that Fahrenheit 451 takes God’s name in vain so “there’s no reason for it to be read.” Alton Verm listed, page by page, some of his objections. This is some his list.

Mr. Verm stated that down grading Christians and talking about our firemen as other reasons that the book should be banned. Neither Mr. Verm, nor his daughter, have read Fahrenheit 451 (nor seen or even heard of the film). If he had, he would have realized that Fahrenheit 451 is a book covering issues, such as book burning, and that it is also known for having saved the Bible from being burned.

Coincidentally, the book was assigned during the National Banned Book Week. Eventually, the attempt at banning the book also failed.
